      IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I, WILLIAM IVAMY of New Bonaventura [sic] in the District of Trinity in the Island of Newfoundland, Fisherman, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding praised be God for the same do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following,

      I give devise and bequeath unto my loving father JOHN IVAMY SENR of New Bonaventura aforesaid all my money, securities for money, goods, chattels, wearing apparel and effects of what nature or kind soever or wheresoever the same shall be at the time of my death and I do nominate, constitute and appoint my brother JOHN IVAMY JUNR, of New Bonaventura, aforesaid, sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking making void all and every other Will or Wills at any time heretofore by me made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

      In witness whereof I the said WILLIAM IVAMY have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five.

      IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I, JOHN IVAMEY, of New Bonaventure in the island of Newfoundland, Planter, being of a sound mind and memory but far advanced in years and mindful of the uncertainty of human life do make, constitute and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament, that is to say,

      First, I give and bequeath to my death wife MARY IVAMEY and to my friend and Minister the Reverend William Bullock the sum of one thousand pounds consolidated GB3 per cent annuities now standing in my name on the Books of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England to be jointly held by them in trust and to be applied in form and manner following, that is to say, the whole of the interest of the said one thousand pounds to be enjoyed by the said MARY IVAMEY with as much of the capital as may be necessary for her support and comfort so long as she shall remain unmarried and no longer and at her death or at the time of her marriage the above sum or as much of it as shall then remain to be divided equally between my two sons JONATHAN IVAMEY and JAMES IVAMEY and in case of the death of either of them then his part to be divided among his children share and share alike.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my dear wife MARY IVAMEY and to my friend and Minister the Reverend William Bullock the sum of four hundred and seventy nine pounds eleven shillings and nine pence now standing in my name in the books of Messrs. Slade and Kelson, Merchants of Trinity, together with all other monies of which I may die possessed and all sums due to me at the time of my death to be jointly held by them in trust and to be applied in form and manner hereafter specified namely, the whole of the interest to be enjoyed by the said MARY IVAMEY with as much of the capital as may be necessary for her comfort and support so long as she remains unmarried and no longer and at her death or at the time of her marriage the above sum or so much of it as shall then remain to be equally divided between my two sons JONATHAN IVAMEY and JAMES IVAMEY and in the event of one of them dying before me then his part to be divided among his children share and share alike.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my dear wife MARY IVAMEY all and every part of my dwelling house outhouses, storehouses, gardens, meadows, household furniture and good together with all my cattle and salmon nets and a pew in the Established Church now in my occupation to be held and enjoyed by her during her natural life and at her death the whole to be divided between my two sons JONATHAN IVAMEY and JAMES IVAMEY and in case of either of them dying before me then his part to be divided among his children share and share alike.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my two sons JONATHAN IVAMEY and JAMES IVAMEY all my fishing room situated in New Bonaventure together with all my boats, seal nets, herring nets, gins crates and all other things belonging to the fishery to be divided equally between them and in case of either of them dying before me then his part to go to his children in equal proportions.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my grandchild AMY IVAMEY daughter of JAMES and SARAH IVAMEY the sum of one hundred pounds now standing in my name in the books of Messrs. Slade and Kelson, Merchants of Trinity, to be paid to her when she attains the age of twenty-one years.

      Item, I give and bequeath to JOHN IVAMEY, GEORGE IVAMEY and ELIZABETH IVAMEY the children of my son the late GEORGE IVAMEY now deceased the sum of ten pounds each to be paid by my Executor at the death of my dear wife MARY IVAMEY.

      Lastly, I do hereby constitute, ordain and appoint my dear wife MARY IVAMEY to be Executrix and my friend and Minister the Reverend William Bullock to be the Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

      IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty-eighth day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty four.

      Chief Justice and the Honourables The Assistant Judges of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland.

      We do by these Presents make known to all men that on the eleventh day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty four and in the fifth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord William the fourth in the Probate Office the Supreme Court of Newfoundland the last Will and Testament of JOHN IVAMEY of New Bonaventure deceased hereunto annexed was proved, approved and ordered to be Registered the said deceased having whilst living and at the time of his death divers good, chattels, credits and effects in the said Island and within the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland by reason whereof the providing and registering the said Will and granting Letters of Administration of all and singular the rights, goods, chattels, credits and effects of the said deceased and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the amounts thereof are well known to appertain only and wholly to the said Supreme Court and that Administration of all and singular the rights, goods, chattels, credits and effects of the said deceased and any way concerning his last Will and Testament was granted to William Bullock of Trinity a Clergyman of the Established Church, the Executor, named in the said Will he having first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and to make a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the rights, goods, chattels, credits and effects of the said deceased and to exhibit the same into the Registry of the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland at St. John's in the Island aforesaid on or before the eleventh day of August next and also to render a just and true account thereof when there to lawfully requires.

      IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF we have caused the Seal of the said Supreme Court to be hereunto affixed at St. John's aforesaid the fourteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four. By Order B. G. Garrett, Acting Chief Clerk and Registrar. [Seal]

      PROVED at London 14th November 1834 before the Judge by the oaths of MARY IVAMEY otherwise IVAMY, widow, the relict and the Reverend William Bullock, Clerk, the Executors to whom Administration was granted being first sworn by commission duly to administer.
