      Entry #279:
24 November 1836, PENNY, John, , Bachelor, , his sponsor John Ivny
IVNY, Johanna, , Spinster, , her sponsor James [surname illegible]
The transcript from which this entry was taken indicates the surname of Johanna as being IVNY. However, another researcher has determined that her surname is LONG. There is a baptism of a Johanna Long but not of Johanna Ivny, which in itself is does not provide proof of the non-existence of a Johanna Ivny. The only method by which this discrepancy could be resolved would be through an examination of the original register.
