  • Notes 
    • One of the five surviving children of Emmery Milsted and Rebecca (nee Ward), William was the seventh child born. He married on 27 August 1854, Eliza Weller of Canterbury. At that time he was living on Oyster Court in Faversham and he was working as a master mariner.

      In 1863 his first known child was born: Florence M. at Seasalter. By 1871 William and family, now including two sons - Henry Thomas, born during 1865 and Albert W., born during 1869 - were living at Lime Cottages. William had, since 1861, taken up dredging. This family does not appear on the 1881 census and most likely had moved away from the area.

      Samuel Peregrine Dane versus William Millsted [sic]: for stealing 30 pounds of lead. Millsted pleaded not guilty. Verdict is guilty. Sentenced to gaol at St. Augustines and whipped privately.
