      Remfrye junior, his son and heir apparent, yeomen = (1)-(2) Thomas Richard alias Kestle of the parish of St Colombe the Loer, yeoman = (3)


      Consideration: £28 6s 8d paid by (3). (1)-(2) to (3), a close of land in the town of Lanhingye called the Longe Close (parish of St Colombe the over), currently held by Petherick Best, bounded on the east by a field where a blowing-house stands, on the south by Trewenheleg, on the west by a close called the Rocke Parke, and on the north by the lands of John Burlace of Newlyn, gentleman; together with all woods, underwoods, rents, reversions, services, profits and commodities; and all writings, deeds, and evidences concerning it. For (3) and his heirs to hold for ever, to their sole use. Covenant by (1)-(2) that they are the true owners, with right to sell, and with no encumbrances except for a lease for term of 21 years granted to Petherick Best, dated 26th Mar 1570. Warranty.

      IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, the seventh day of November in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and one and in the two and fortieth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth, Queen of England, France and Ireland Queen, defender of the faith etc, I, WALTER BURLAS, of the parish of Sythny doe make this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Will or Wills whatsoever before made in manner and form following,

      First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my loving father and creator thorough assured faith and hope of redemption in the precious death and bloodsheding of Jesus Christ my redeemer to whom with the Holy Ghost three persons and one god be praised glory, power and dominion for ever and ever, Amen, my body to be buried in the church of Sythny.

      Item, I give to the poor and reparation of the church of Sithny twenty shillings,

      Item, I give to the poor of Saint Newllen in Pider twenty shillings.

      Item, I give to the poor of Breage twenty shillings.

      Item, I give to the poor of Gwendron ten shillings.

      Item, I give to the poor of Helstone ten shillings.

      Item, I give to every one of my household servants give shillings a piece.

      Item, I give to GEORGE PAINTER my daugther's MARIE son ten pound.

      Item, I give to my daughter MARIE PAINTER five pound.

      Item, I give to two of my brother FRANCIS BORLAS, HIS DAUGHTERS forty shillings a piece.

      Item, I give to my son THOMAS BURLACE a hundred pound of lawful English money.

      Item, I give to HARRY BURLAS my son a hundred pound of lawful English money.

      Item, I give WALTER BURLAS my son a hundred pound of good English money.

      Item, I give to JOHN BURLAS my son a hundred pound of lawful English money.

      Item, I give to my daughter DOROTHY BURLAS a hundred pound of good English money.

      Item I give to my daughter PHILLIP BURLAS a hundred pound of good English money.

      Item, I giver to MARIE BURLAS my wedded wife all my lands in Trethenak alias Trewethenack and Bustassack during her widowhood.

      Item, my will is that my children shall remain in house with my wife as long as she shall continue widow with there goods and all the rest of my goods which are not given nor bequeathed I give to MARIE my wife and WILLIAM BURLAS my son, whom I make my Executors of this my last Will and Testament, PROVIDED always if the said MARIE do happen to marry then my will is that my son WILLIAM BURLAS shall pay her the sum of sevenscore pounds of good lawful English money for her portion so the rest to remain to the said WILLIAM BURLAS.

      Item this to see my last Will and Testament performed I make my Overseers my brother in law John Coode and JOHN BUSVARGUS to see this my Will performed I give ten shillings a piece.
