  Extensive searches for a possible marriage and death of Ernest Chamberlain have failed to turn up any positive evidence. The Marriage index has been searched for the years 1901 through 1910 and 1913 through 1922. Many marriages took place of an Ernest Chamberlain during that time period but, unfortunately, the requested search of the entries in and around Hinckley have been returned as not matching the name of the father of the groom. Similar resounding failure has been achieved in attempting to locate a plausible death index entry. Deaths have been searched from 1961 through the March quarter of 1966. These years were chosen for the search based on information, albeit somewhat illegible information, written on a family descendancy chart by Hector Kemp. The death year appears to be 1962 but there are no Ernest Chamberlain's dying in or around the Hinckley or Leamington areas during that year. The information concerning Ernest on the descendancy chart is somewhat suspect as Hector has also written in Ernest's year of birth as having been 1891. Searches of both the birth and death index entries for the time period 1881 through 1891 have produced firstly, no death of the Ernest who had been born during 1881 and secondly, no birth of an Ernest in the right geographical area during 1891. Further research is clearly required in order to resolve the long-standing question concerning the fate of Ernest Chamberlain. ===================== 4.
