| Notes |
- The earliest reference to Edward is the inclusion of his name on the Burgess Roll of 1837/38. He did not appear on subsequent rolls, although, we do know that he did not die until April of 1857. His civil death certificate is entered on the index in the June quarter 1857 at Faversham district, volume 2a, page 321. Edward's son, Charles, did not survive past his third year of life and was buried on 6 November 1838.
In 1841 Edward and Christian had living with them, Thomas Gregory, widower, also a dredger, aged 75 to 79 years. Thomas is shown simply as being a relative and presumably was Edward's uncle. The family lived on Water Lane and Edward worked as a fisherman.
In 1851 Edward was still living on Water Lane and had taken Daniel as an apprentice in the Faversham Oyster Fishery Company as a dredger. Edward III and John, both sons of Edward and Christian, had married by 1851. Rebecca was also living and working away from home.
1861 saw Christian widowed and living with her daughter, Emma, then married to Archibald Duncan. Thomas and William, Emma's brothers, were also living with the family. Their address was 5 St. Mary's Road, 'Gillows Meadows', Faversham. Thomas and William were both mariners as was Archibald Duncan. Visiting were two other children: Henry Smeed aged 1, the son of Emma's sister Mary Ann who had married Henry Smeed; and one young girl named Amelia, aged 14, a pupil teacher born at Ramsgate. Christian died during the June quarter of 1871 at age 70 years. She is shown on the G.R.O. index of deaths as Catherine Gregory. References are volume 2a, page 433, Faversham district.

Her Chr. 22 starts a shade later than Ians but ends at exactly the same spot. Therefore, she must also be a Gregory cousin.
So, that section of Chromosome 22 can point to other Gregory cousins or their wives. I will have to follow the trails so that I can identify Amanda Smith. Associated with her profile is a maternal link to the surname Stone from Kent.
