- Consider the possibility that this Thomas who married Thomasine Essex was actually a brother or nephew of John rather than his son as there is a burial for a Thomas Collard son of John Collard at St. Mildred 16 Oct 1602 only 2 weeks prior to the death of Gregory Collard, John's brother, at the same place.
